‘Getting to know’ this is all about everyone settling into the new routines, getting to know each other and forming strong attachments with staff, parent, carers and children. Learning experiences will be created from children’s responses, views and interests. Staff will ensure children’s health and well-being is looked after with an emphasis on numeracy and literacy. Learning experiences will include- · Picture drawings of ‘our family’ · In art children will create faces of their family using art and craft material. · Children will use a shape game to build ‘my house’ · To help children settle into new routines each child will be allocated a personal symbol which will be used for their name card, snack card and toothbrush. This activity helps children familiarise themselves with daily routines and activities. · Children will join in ring games and circle time with familiar songs and rhymes.

Parent/carers we would like to draw your attention to the notice boards all along the corridor and in the reception area. The notice boards display children’s work, children’s achievements, planning for children’s learning and photographs of children at work. The notice boards also display up and coming events and provide information on curriculum, Eco issues, newsletters, home links and outside agency fliers. We also have a suggestion box in the reception area and welcome parent/carers suggestions, ideas, comments and questions.

Children have been looking at books and have especially focussed on ‘The Tiger who comes to Tea.’ Learning experiences will include- · Staff and children will ‘read’ the story and create a ‘tea party’ in the home corner. The children and adults who wish to take part will have cupcakes sandwiches and juice. · Children will be able to take part in water play using animal figures to see the animals ‘swim’ · Painting with brushes and sponges to create ‘animals’ · Singing and taking part in animal ring games and circle time.

Baby room-developing babies balance and movement Learning experiences will include- · With support from staff children will use the tunnel and balance beam both in the playroom and outdoors. This will help children to gain confidence and develop good coordination. · Staff will encourage children to use various shape sorters to help develop good hand-eye coordination and problem solving. · Staff will encourage children to join in action songs and ring games to help children with language acquisition.

We would like to inform you all that Fullwood nursery will be closed on Thursday 6th July owing to a police incident -we will advise you all tomorrow if we will open on Friday 7th July. We apologise for any inconvenience cause and thank you for your patience.

We would like to inform you all that due to a fire at an empty house near Fullwood the police have made the decision to keep the area clear. Therefore at present we are unable to open the nursery. We thank you all for your understanding and will keep you informed as the information becomes available to us.
