‘Getting to know’ this is all about everyone settling into the new routines, getting to know each other and forming strong attachments with staff, parent, carers and children. Learning experiences will be created from children’s responses, views and interests. Staff will ensure children’s health and well-being is looked after with an emphasis on numeracy and literacy. Learning experiences will include- · Picture drawings of ‘our family’ · In art children will create faces of their family using art and craft material. · Children will use a shape game to build ‘my house’ · To help children settle into new routines each child will be allocated a personal symbol which will be used for their name card, snack card and toothbrush. This activity helps children familiarise themselves with daily routines and activities. · Children will join in ring games and circle time with familiar songs and rhymes.
